The timeline for the other currencies to be re-implemented for PayPal purchases on Steam remains unclear, but PayPal did communicate that it hopes to offer the currencies in the future.

“In the meantime, please use one of our other current payment methods during check out. If you can’t use any of the available options, you can consider using a Steam Wallet code to add funds to your account,” PayPal wrote.

The news was shared via screenshot on Reddit two days ago as of writing, which resulted in more widespread awareness of the issue. Other users confirmed the PayPal currency roadblock, according to discussions on Steam’s community forum. A user located in Hong Kong posted on the forum on July 11, indicating the relative start date of the currency issue. Numerous reports and accounts from Hong Kong ran into the same problem.
