Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II was updated to the Enhanced version on all platforms where it was already present and debuted on PlayStation 5 on Aug. 12, 2025.
Besides Sony’s console, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II Enhanced is also playable on Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC and Steam Deck.
Developed by Ninja Theory and published by Xbox Game Studios, the title serves as the sequel to 2017’s Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice. Set in 9th-century Iceland, the game follows the story of the Orcadian warrior Senua, who is willingly captured by Northmen slavers and taken across the sea from Orkney to Iceland, hoping to free her enslaved people.
Initially launched on May 21, 2024, with the Enhanced update, the game received visual enhancements with more detailed and accurate shadows and improved anti-aliasing, along with DLSS 4 and Multi-Frame Generation support, Steam Deck–aware optimization of performance, Dev Commentary mode, new photo mode features, and Dark Rot mode. On top of that, according to the developer’s statement, the game is about to become Steam Deck Verified.
