Archon Prophecy DLC for the 4X turn-based strategy game Age of Wonders 4 launched on Aug. 12, 2025.
Developed by Triumph Studios and published by Paradox Interactive on May 2, 2023, the 4X turn-based strategy game Age of Wonders 4 became the sixth title in the Age of Wonders series, following Age of Wonders: Planetfall. The game is playable on PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X|S.
The expansion brings to the game a new culture, the Architects. From now on, the construction of vast, magical monuments within cities dedicated to the affinity of the player’s choice will unlock powerful bonuses.
Besides that, two new forms joined the game: Elysian, ascended, heavenly beings that bring a touch of the divine to your realm, and Ancient, withered and bent beings from the depths of history and other, more sinister places.
Age of Wonders 4 also received new narrative content with the Archon Prophecy expansion, along with two new story realms: Rings of Emnora and Cliffs of Sordünn.
Four new tomes have been added to the game with the new DLC: Tome of Virtue, Tome of Prophecies, Tome of the Revenant, and Tome of the Archon.
A new hero class, Battlesaint, which can be useful both as a sacred support unit or as a martyr-like tank, joined Age of Wonders 4.
As of the time of writing, Age of Wonders 4 has a “Very Positive” rating on Steam with 13,842 reviews and an all-time peak of 42,877 players, according to SteamDB.
