Key points

  1. PUBG has released its newest report regarding player bans, and it’s lower than last week.
  2. The developers did not say why it’s lower, but it might be a positive thing.
  3. Apex Legends and Destiny 2 have also published reports regarding player bans.

PUBG developers have been banning players in the game for quite some time now; however, it seems that the numbers have been dwindling, as the latest report says only approximately 22,039 players were banned, compared to last week’s 43,998.

Around 64% of the 22,039 players banned were due to cheating, a rampant practice prevalent in all gaming. Around 28% of those players were banned for team killing, 4% were banned for teaming, and the remaining players were banned for abusing the game.

As previously mentioned, last week’s ban report for PUBG says 43,998 players got banned, the majority of them for cheating. The developers did not say why the number of people being banned has been dwindling lately, but this might mean that the developers are finally catching up to the cheaters in-game.

Game studios releasing reports regarding player bans and the health of their servers isn’t something new. Apex Legends, another battle royale game, also released reports of how changes in their anti-cheat or the game’s infrastructure have resolved or deterred cheating in the game.

Much more recent is Bungie’s statement on Aug. 6, 2025, which reported a ban wave to people who “were found cheating during The Desert Perpetual Contest Mode.” Bans were also issued to players who benefited from cheaters in their fireteam.
