Gradius Origins collection launched on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 on Aug. 7, 2025.
The release of the bundle of classic shoot-’em-up video games for Nintendo’s system was initially revealed during Nintendo Direct on March 27, 2025.
Developed and published by Konami, the Gradius franchise celebrates its 40th anniversary by adding to the Gradius Origins collection such titles as Gradius, Salamander, Life Force, Gradius II, Salamander II and Gradius III, with a brand-new entry, Salamander III, on top.
The collection has some new features on board, like save states, a rewind feature, and Invincible mode, along with a new Training mode that allows players to adjust settings like restart points, loop counts, and power-up statuses. Gradius Origins also includes a gallery feature with music from the games and a variety of images from each title.
