Exclusive to selected players, the ongoing Early Access Beta, which started on Aug. 7, 2025, and will conclude on Aug. 8, 2025, will be followed by an Open Beta available to everyone during two Open Beta Weekends: Aug. 9–10, 2025, and Aug. 14–17, 2025.
Developed by Battlefield Studios and published by Electronic Arts, Battlefield 6 is also coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, whose users are also participating in the testing, though console player numbers and the total number of PC players remain unknown, as the game uses its own proprietary launcher.
Prior to beta testing, the game was tested via Battlefield Labs, introduced by EA in February 2025 as the most ambitious community testing program in the franchise’s history. From May 23–26, 2025, the first stress test was organized, focusing on server stability. It featured limited maps and modes and was playable on all the platforms the game is heading to.
Serving as the eighteenth installment in the Battlefield series, after Battlefield 2042, the game is slated to be released on Oct. 10, 2025.
