Reikon Games revealed a release date trailer for its upcoming title, Metal Eden. The trailer revealed the updated release date, which is now on Sept. 2, 2025; this follows the initial delay of the title’s release, which was originally planned for May 6. In early April, Metal Eden’s demo became readily available, providing the first two missions of the game.
Players control a character known as ASKA, a hyper unit built upon a digitised human psyche, designed to save and protect humanity from the captivity of the Engineers. Upon death, she can stream her consciousness back to the NEXUS – allowing ASKA to be rebuilt and try again. Developed by independent studio Reikon Games and published by Deep Silver, the title was first revealed during a Sony State of Play event.
Inspired by Doom Eternal, Metal Eden’s gameplay combines efficient platforming with fast-paced combat. Reikon Games, known for their “artistic action adventures,” previously developed the isometric shooter RUINER. The studio’s focus is on creating games with a “cybernetic dimension of life” and haunting sci-fi realities.
