Real-time strategy (RTS) Era One launched globally in Early Access mode for Windows PCs via Steam on Aug. 6, 2025.
The title offers players a single-player campaign mode that will be developed in episodes following the game’s release stages. The developer plans to add PvE multiplayer against AI, with classic deathmatch and base defense modes, as well as multiplayer for up to 10 players through a dedicated server.
The game’s story unfolds in a distant future where Earth’s resources have been exhausted, forcing humanity to embark on the Great Colonization, an ambitious expansion to distant planets and the construction of massive interstellar ships.
In the game players can construct their own base using a set of assembly modules, with no limit to shape or size. It is worth noting that building and maintaining a base in Era One requires effective resource management—from gathering raw materials and energy sources to organizing the workforce and upgrading and constructing the base. Besides that, as players progress in Era One, they can unlock and research new technologies to enhance their base-building capabilities. Advancements in areas such as construction techniques, resource extraction, and defensive systems provide players with additional options for base expansion and fortification. In addition to base building, the game also features extensive battle starship customization and large-scale spaceship battles.
The recommended system requirements for the game include Windows 11 (64-bit), an Intel Core i9 or AMD Ryzen 9 processor, or an equivalent CPU. It also requires 16 GB of RAM and a GPU such as the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 or AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT, or a superior GPU with at least 6 GB of VRAM. Additionally, the system must have at least 8 GB of available storage space. DirectX version 12 is necessary for proper functionality, along with a broadband internet connection.
