The Hinokami Chronicles 2 is a direct sequel to the prior game, providing more character and lore surrounding the Demon Slayer universe. Story Mode then continues, providing in-game retelling of the Entertainment District, Swordsmith Village, and Hashira Training Arcs.

IGN wrote an in-depth review of the sequel, giving the title a seven out of ten rating. As for ongoing support for the game, updates and DLC are expected — the game’s predecessor was granted both of these as post-launch updates and paid content.

Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2 was released on PlayStation 4 and 5, Nintendo Switch 1 and 2, Xbox Series X|S and One, and Steam.

The game does not support cross-platform multiplayer, thereby making console choice a limiting factor for the multiplayer experience.
