Solo Leveling: Arise Update Adds SSR Hunter Sung Jinah

Solo Leveling: Arise’s update on July 31 added SSR Hunter Sung Jinah, included within the Stars on the Battlefield banner. The banner concludes on Aug. 28. The character players as a Wind DPS with well-rounded stats and strong MP recovery. The latest update to Solo Leveling: Arise not only added the new character, Sung Jinah, but also expanded the main story with chapters 26 through 29.

Within the original canon of the manhwa, Sung Jinah is not a hunter; she is instead an ordinary sibling who Sung Jin Woo seeks to protect, serving as a narrative tool for him to grow even stronger. Her implementation within Solo Leveling: Arise is a “What-If” scenario, where she awakens as a Wind Magic-using hunter during the Dungeon Break that took place within her school. Her character introduction trailer provides more context surrounding her debut. Sung Jinah is a member of The White Tiger Guild, known as the guild’s rising star. 

In celebration of the character’s debut, Netmarble created an origin webtoon chapter of the what-if scenario as well, linked here. Within the official Manhwa, Sung Jin Woo is asked how he would respond if Sung Jinah awakened as a hunter. 

“Would you let her be a hunter,” a lady asked Jin Woo. His immediate answer is a curt “no.” Sung Jinwoo’s desire to protect his leftover family through his strength alone is a key motivating factor in his desire to become stronger.
