EA released a series of videos highlighting various new multiplayer aspects of Battlefield 6, including the maps, modes, classes, and combat systems. The early access begins on Aug 7 and 8, with the open beta beginning going from Aug. 9 and 10, followed by another period of availability from Aug. 14 to 17. 

Those who participated or signed up for Battlefield Labs, the initial play test of the title, gain Early Access privileges regardless of whether they are invited to playtest or not. 

The title is currently available for pre-purchase on Steam, priced at $69.99. Battlefield 6 features a new Kinesthetic Combat system, allowing the player to feel more connected to their avatar and environment through overhauled gunplay and tactical movement. Battlefield 6’s large-scale modes include Conquest, Breakthrough, and Rush. The faster-paced action modes include King of the Hill, Domination, and Payload. Maps include Cairo, Brooklyn, Gibraltar, and more.

Campaign also returns, during which the player will drive tanks across the Sarah, storm the Beaches of Gibraltar, defend New York from invasion, and join an elite squad of Marine Raiders to fight to save the world from collapse, as according to the official Steam posting

Battlefield Portal provides a sandbox for creators and players to push Battlefield to its limit. Customization controls for NPC scripting and UI are available, allowing creativity to flourish. A player’s creation can even become an official Battlefield mode. 

Battlefield 6 releases on Oct. 10, 2025. Since the release of the first game in the franchise, titled Battlefield 1942, for Windows and macOS (OS X at the time) PCs in 2002, the series has sold approximately 88.7 million units globally.
