Microsoft became the major publisher on PlayStation in US during the reporting period of April 6, 2025, to July 5, 2025, according to data revealed by Mat Piscatella, executive director and video game industry analyst at Circana.
With six positions in the top ten best-selling games, Microsoft heavily outpaced Sony, which holds only two spots on the list.
The best-selling Microsoft games on PlayStation during the reporting period of April 6, 2025, to July 5, 2025, were Forza Horizon 5, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Doom: The Dark Ages, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and Minecraft which held the 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 6th, 8th, and 10th places on the list, respectively.
Notably, Bandai Namco’s Elden Ring: Nightreign, which recently hit 5 million copies sold globally, became the best-selling game on both PlayStation and Xbox platfroms in the U.S. during that period.
As for the top best-selling games on Nintendo Switch in the US during the same period, Nintendo predictably leads as publisher, with Mario Kart World at the helm of the list.
It is worth noting that there may be a mistake in Piscatella’s chart, as he cites Nintendo as Minecraft’s publisher on Nintendo platforms, while according to the official game’s page on Nintendo’s website, Mojang (owned by Microsoft since November 2014) is specified as Minecraft’s publisher.
