FromSoftware announced on July 30, 2025, that the 1.02 update patch for Elden Ring Nightreign is being postponed due to a tsunami warning. The warning was raised after an 8.7 magnitude underwater earthquake had hit the coast of Kamchatka, Russia.
“Due to the tsunami warning following the earthquake near the Kamchatka Peninsula, we have decided to postpone the distribution of the ‘ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN’ Patch 1.02, which was scheduled for today to tomorrow, July 31,” the announcement mentioned.
This patch is supposed to introduce Augur’s Everdark Sovereign, which is an enhanced version of the boss. The introduction of Everdark Sovereigns was first highlighted in June, when the developers shadowdropped a new type of boss for players to defeat.
Regarding the earthquake, a few countries have issued tsunami warnings, including the United States, Russia, Japan, the Philippines and Indonesia. Several countries are monitoring the situation and will act accordingly.
Elden Ring Nightreign was released on May 30, 2025. It’s available on PlayStation 4 and 5, PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. The game is a spinoff of Elden Ring but mixed with roguelike elements.
