- Team Falcons has exited IEM Cologne 2025 early after getting eliminated by Furia.
- This tournament is Kyousuke’s tier 1 Counter-Strike debut, which was a success in terms of his stats.
- Team Falcons is now preparing for the Esports World Cup 2025.
Furia has eliminated Team Falcons from Intel Extreme Master (IEM) Cologne 2025 during a lower bracket match, which saw the series reach map three. Team Falcons started strong with a win on Train, but a hard-fought second map from Furia was the beginning of the end for the super team.
Team Falcons have been having lackluster performances since the Austin Major 2025, where they finished 20th-22nd — disappointing for a team of their caliber. Additionally, the team’s newest acquisition, Maksim “Kyousuke” Lukin, has generated some excitement due to the firepower the new kid on the block has.
Kyousuke was excellent at IEM Cologne 2025, consistently getting a positive rating in each of the maps he played. He was also seen as the one keeping Team Falcons alive in the tournament, as he kept getting kills that allowed Team Falcons to continue playing in the series. It’s worth noting that this is his first time playing tier 1 Counter-Strike, which makes his debut a great success.
Ultimately, Kyousuke’s firepower was not enough to carry the team’s veterans’ abysmal performance, leading to their early exit in IEM Cologne 2025. Nikola “NiKo” Kovač, a player considered one of the best riflers in the world, ended the tournament with a 0.69 rating, the lowest out of the 10 players in their last match. For comparison, Kyousuke ended the tournament with a 1.51 rating.
With them out of the tournament, Team Falcons is now preparing for Counter-Strike 2’s Esports World Cup 2025 tournament, which starts on Aug. 20, 2025.
