Capcom revised its Monster Hunter Wilds content roadmap, debuting endgame expansion content on August 13 instead of late September as originally planned. The expansion debuts a new quest difficulty, a new rewards system for the new quest difficulty, and other balance adjustments targeting weapons and other gameplay balance.

Monster Hunter Wilds update Ver.1.021 will add Talisman as an in-game reward for the new level of quest difficulty. In addition, the Festival of Accord Flamefete Expansion event is being extended for an extra week, allowing players to unlock Cornpopper gunlance and play a wide range of Event Quests with unique rewards, according to the official update blog. The exact changes have not been revealed yet; they are expected to be detailed on the day of release.
Monster Hunter Wilds has been criticized by long-time fans of the series for being too easy. This has become a recurring trend in the latest Monster Hunter games, with Rise having seen similar criticism before Sunbreak’s eventual release. Capcom’s attention to difficulty showcases the company’s attention to community feedback.
