Key points
  1. Qudans has won his first big Tekken 8 tournament, taking the SOOP Tekken 8 League 2025 Season 1 Finals trophy home.
  2. He is one of Tekken’s legacy players but has not found his footing in Tekken 8 yet.
  3. Qudans won Tekken Tag Tournament’s bracket at Evo 2005.

Son “Qudans” Byeong-mun has won his first big Tekken 8 tournament, defeating his bracket demons and lifting a Tekken 8 trophy for the very first time. Qudans is one of the older players in the game’s community, having his first start in the competitive scene as a Tekken Tag Tournament player.

The Mishima savant demolished his opponents on the way to the grand final of the tournament. While he lost his first match in his group against Lim “Ulsan” Soo-hoon, he quickly bounced back to defeat Kang “Chanel” Seong-ho 2-0, leading him to a rematch against Ulsan, whom he made quick work of with another 2-0 victory. This win allowed him to qualify for the finals bracket.

There, Qudans beat the Combo Breaker 2025 champion, Han “Mulgold” Jae-gyun, Tekken 7 World Tour champion Jeong “Rangchu” Hyeon-ho and Tekken 7 CEO 2023 champion Jeon “Jeondding” Sang-hyun. Qudans beat all these players convincingly; only Mulgold took a game off of him.

In the grand final, Qudans faced off against Choi “Breadman” Min-woo, a player who grinded the game’s online fighting space. However, Qudans wasn’t going to be stopped on his way to the trophy, ending the tournament 3-1, not even allowing Breadman to reset the bracket.

Qudans, as mentioned earlier, is one of Tekken’s legacy players. He won Tekken Tag Tournament’s bracket at Evo 2005. He also won the Tekken World Tour Finals 2017 over fellow Korean player Choi “Saint” Jin-woo.
