- Steam Client Beta features a new store menu that is marketed to facilitate the user’s experience.
- The left column and blue bar were combined into one menu.
- The features provide easier access to places the user most frequently visits.
Steam Client Beta is currently testing new store menu features, one of which provides easier access to the places the user most frequently visits. The left column links and blue menu bar were combined into one menu, bringing all essential links into a single, reorganized space. The blue bar is in reference to the top of the bar, which at the moment holds the “Your Store, News & Noteworthy,” and more tabs. As for the left column links, at the time of writing, include “Recently viewed, “Your Tags,” “Recommended,” and more clickable options.

In addition, the search panel has been enhanced, offering more options, including:
- Popular Searches: See what others are searching for right now
- Recently Viewed: An easy way to jump back to games the user previously looked at
- More than just games: Search for categories/tags, publishers, and more
- Advanced Search link: For those who want to refine their game search even further
Recommendations have been placed in a single section, allowing the user to explore new games and content without having to go through numerous tabs. The categories tab has been personalized for each user, marketed to facilitate browsing.
“With these changes, we’re aiming to make your experience smoother and more tailored to your needs. We’ve been hearing from players, and experiencing ourselves, that some of the most commonly visited areas of Steam were hard to get to,” Valve communicated in its news blog.
To help test the feature, users can sign up for the Steam Client Beta here. Detailed instructions can be found in the internal link. Depending on how the Beta testing goes, the new store features may be implemented on Steam.
