Developed by Leenzee and published by 505 Games, the soulslike title joined Xbox Game Pass on its release day and became available for free as part of the subscription on PC, Xbox Cloud, and Xbox Series X|S for members of Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.
Set in the late Ming dynasty, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers follows the story of Bai Wuchang, an amnesiac pirate battling the Feathering Disease, which has plagued the lands of Shu and is gradually transforming the infected into monsters.
The game reached a peak of 114,132 concurrent players in the first 24 hours after launch but, at the same time, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers was burned with a “Mostly Negative” rating on Steam with 5,854 reviews mostly raging about the title’s poor performance on PC.
As of the time of writing, the game has a Metascore rating of 75 based on 63 critic reviews.
