Gaijin Entertainment Acquires Fortnite Map The Pit in Multimillion-Dollar Deal

On July 23, 2025, Gaijin Entertainment released a press release announcing its acquisition of the Fortnite map The Pit. According to the studio, it was acquired through a “multi-million-dollar deal” and signals the studio’s expansion into the user-generated content space.
“The Pit has been a defining project for me, and I’m thrilled to see it enter a new phase under Gaijin Entertainment. Their expertise in online gaming and commitment to innovation make them the perfect team to take The Pit to the next level,” The Pit’s creator, Gavin Gear, said in a statement.
In April 2025, the studio announced that it had invested in the map and even launched EndoWorlds alongside it as a Gaijin portfolio studio. With this investment, Gear partnered up with Gaijin Entertainment to improve The Pit.
Gaijin Entertainment founder Anton Yudintsev mentioned that The Pit’s acquisition “marks a new chapter for us” and that the studio is “committed to supporting innovative gaming experiences, and UGC on platforms such as Fortnite is a new exciting opportunity for us.”
Fortnite ecosystem EVP Saxs Persson mentioned in a statement that they hope Gaijin’s investment in the platform will lead to new opportunities for other creators.
Gaijin Entertainment is a Hungarian game studio famous for its vehicular combat multiplayer game War Thunder. Recently, it’s been expanding to more premium games and published Cubic Odyssey in May 2025.
