The first official trailer of Battlefield 6, published on July 24, 2025, announced a multiplayer reveal scheduled for July 31, 2025.
The game is developed by four studios, DICE, Ripple Effect, Notive, and Criterion, under the umbrella of the Battlefield Studios brand and will be published by Electronic Arts. The title is coming for Windows PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
The upcoming first-person shooter will become the thirteenth installment in the Battlefield series, following 2021’s Battlefield 2042.
Since the release of the first installment in the franchise, titled Battlefield 1942, in 2002, the series has sold approximately 88.7 million copies worldwide.
The game has been tested via Battlefield Labs, which was introduced by EA in February 2025 as the most ambitious community testing program in the franchise’s history.
During the period May 23–26, 2025, the first stress test was organized, focused on server stability, featuring limited maps and modes, and was playable on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
An open beta is expected to follow the multiplayer reveal, spotlighting flexibility in the new weapon system, where players can choose between Open Weapons (any weapon can be used on any class) and Closed Weapons (traditional class-locked weapon utility).
