Notably, besides PC, as of the time of writing, the game was also playable on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 4 and 5 (in both cases, the game is included in the platform’s subscription list of titles).

Brütal Legend follows Eddie Riggs (voiced and modeled after Jack Black), a roadie transported to a fantastical world inspired by heavy metal album art. Armed with his Flying V electric guita, used as a powerful battle axe, Eddie battles supernatural overlords to save the world.

Besides Ozzy Osbourne in the role of The Fire Baron, a major character who guides the protagonist, the game also features cameos of Rob Halford (Judas Priest) as General Lion, Lemmy Kilmister (Motörhead) as Headbanger, Lita Ford (The Runaways) as Agent Ula, and Tommy Lee (Mötley Crüe) as The Concierge.

Some songs contained within Brütal Legend‘s soundtrack saw digital sales increases of up to 700% following the game’s release.

As of the time of writing, the title has a “Very Positive” rating on Steam with 10,371 reviews.
