Wildgate released globally for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC via Steam on July 22, 2025.
Developed by Moonshot and published by Dreamhaven, the game is a mix of PvP multiplayer shooter, playable from a first-person perspective, with tactical spaceship combat.
At launch, Wildgate features four different ships:
- All-rounder gunship, The Hunter, which has three forward-facing cannons and increased speed when shields are dropped
- Secure ship, The Bastion, with tanked-up durability, a built-in security device and extra secure doors
- Battle ship, The Privateer, with a six-turret gun deck, double projectile velocity, increased fire rate and higher inflicted damage
- Fast ship, The Scout, with a lighter loadout, longer boost duration, faster speed and higher turn rate
The main goal of each match in the game is to find The Artifact, the most valuable object in the game’s universe, snatch it and pass through the Wildgate, or destroy the ships of every other crew and be the last crew standing.
According to the title’s Steam page, the recommended system requirements for the game include 64-bit Windows 10 or 11, an Intel Core i7-9700K or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X CPU, 16 GB of RAM and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 2070, AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT or Intel Arc A580 GPU with 8 GB of VRAM. The game uses DirectX 12, requires a broadband internet connection and needs 15 GB of available storage space.
Notably, the title is the debut for Moonshot Games, a development studio under Dreamhaven. It was founded in 2020 by Mike Morhaime, co-founder and former CEO of Blizzard Entertainment. Moonshot is led by a team of former Blizzard employees, including former Blizzard executive producer Jason Chayes, former StarCraft II game director Dustin Browder and former Hearthstone creative director Ben Thompson.
