Key points

  1. FromSoftware is reportedly working on an unannounced project codenamed FMC.
  2. The rumors say that this is either from the Dark Souls or Armored Core franchise.
  3. If the rumors are true, then FromSoftware is working on three games.

A report published by MP1st claims that FromSoftware is in an advanced stage of development regarding an unnamed project. The report claims it’s a multiplatform game, which crosses out the possibility that this rumor is about The Duskbloods, FromSoftware’s Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive game.

The outlet added that the codename for the project is “FMC” and that if the game isn’t delayed, it should be playable “no later than next year.” It also added that this codename might belong to either the Armored Core or Dark Souls franchise.

MP1st leaned more toward the possibility of this game being under the Dark Souls franchise and said that this might be a remaster of Dark Souls 3. They arrived at this conclusion because Dark Souls 1 and 2 have had one lately, with only Dark Souls 3 not having one.

Armored Core, the other franchise, has been revived recently with a sixth entry that was released in 2023. There’s a possibility that FMC might be a remaster or another entry in the franchise. However, a two-year gap might be too short for a game like Armored Core.

FromSoftware, if the rumors are true, is currently working on three games: Elden Ring: Nightreign, The Duskbloods and FMC. The studio has over 400 employees, which is considered on the lower side when it comes to AAA game development.
