Delta Force Conducts Technical Test on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S

Delta Force launched a technical test on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, set to run from July 17 until July 21, 2025.

The test features content from the game’s latest season titled Break, including 11 Operators, 5 maps in Operations mode, and 8 maps in Warfare mode.

The game was officially launched on April 21, 2025, for Windows PC via Epic Games Store and Steam, and for iOS and Android platforms. The title is slated for release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on August 19, 2025.

Delta Force is a free-to-play first-person tactical shooter initially developed and published by NovaLogic with IP rights being later acquired by TiMi Studio Group which countinued developement and published the game with distributive support from Garena in Southeast Asia market.

The title, set in 2035, follows a large corporation called Haavk as it attempts to take over a fictional North African region called Ahsarah. Players assume the role of a military operator working for an international paramilitary group called the Global Threat Initiative, which seeks to foil Haavk’s plans.

Besides the usual handheld weapons, players in Delta Force can control military vehicles like tanks and helicopters. Notably, all playable transports, weapons, and characters are customizable in the game.

The game was inspired by the 2001 film Black Hawk Down, directed by Ridley Scott, and the 2003 shooter Delta Force: Black Hawk Down. That is also the reason why the game features single-player and cooperative modes closely based on the film and set in 1993, when United States forces participated in the Somali conflict.

Originally titled simply Delta Force, and then amended to Delta Force: Hawk Ops, on August 20, 2024, the game’s title was turned back to just Delta Force again.

As of the time of writing, the game has a “Mixed” rating on Steam with 123,886 reviews and a peak of 198,735 concurrent players, according to SteamDB.
