The Ark: Aquatica DLC will be released on July 15, 2025, for Ark: Survival Evolved, according to an official announcement posted on the title’s Steam page on July 9, 2025.

The expansion, set underwater, is about to bring 21 new aquatic creatures along with challenges such as crushing deep-sea pressure, powerful currents and drastic environmental shifts.

Ark: Survival Evolved tasks players with survival on one of several maps filled with dinosaurs, fictional fantasy monsters, different prehistoric animals, natural hazards and potentially hostile other players.

Developed by Studio Wildcard, Ark: Survival Evolved was launched for Linux, macOS and Windows PCs on Aug. 29, 2017, as well as for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Almost a year later, on June 14, 2018, the title was ported to Android and iOS platforms, with a Nintendo Switch version being delivered a couple of months later on Nov. 30, 2018.

As of the time of writing, the game has a “Very Positive” rating on Steam with 553,730 reviews and an all-time peak of 248,405 concurrent players, according to SteamDB.

Ark: Survival Evolved had sold approximately 79 million copies by the end of 2024.

The game was turned into an animated TV series titled “Ark: The Animated Series” by Paramount+, with the first part released on March 21, 2024, and the second part set to premiere in 2025.

The game also got a remaster titled Ark: Survival Ascended. Built on Unreal Engine 5, it was released in early access for Windows PC on Oct. 25, 2023, Xbox Series X|S on Nov. 21, 2023, and PlayStation 5 on Nov. 30, 2023.

As of the time of writing, the remaster has a “Mixed” rating on Steam with 73,254 reviews and an all-time peak of 98,047 players, according to SteamDB.
