Meta Quest 3S is now available for $249, saving $50 off the original price of $299.99.
Designed as an entry-level variation of Meta Quest 3, the simplified Quest 3S model features the same Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 system-on-chip with 8 GB of RAM, color passthrough cameras and Touch Plus controllers as the advanced Quest 3.
This VR headset is equipped with Fresnel lenses and maintains a display at 1832×1920 per-eye resolution with a 96-degree horizontal field of view. It also supports physical interpupillary distance adjustment at 58 mm, 63 mm and 68 mm.
Notably, this standalone VR headset, developed by Reality Labs, a division of Meta Platforms, has recently revealed an Xbox Edition in collaboration with Microsoft.
As for the PlayStation Portal, it is now available for $124, cutting $75 off the original price of $199.
The PlayStation Portal is a handheld gaming accessory for the PlayStation 5, developed by Sony Interactive Entertainment, which can be used to stream video games and other media from a PlayStation 5 via the Portal’s WiFi connection using Remote Play. Its main hardware includes an 8-inch LCD HD screen and all of the buttons and features of a standard DualSense controller. The PlayStation Portal runs on a Snapdragon 662 system-on-chip and utilizes a heavily modified version of Android 13. While it is not a standalone game console, as it only functions as a streaming receiver for the PlayStation 5, in November 2024, Sony rolled out test versions of the PlayStation Portal’s software to give cloud gaming access to players with PlayStation Plus Premium.
