Tekken 8 x Atelier Yumia Collaboration Gives Characters Cowlicks, Baffles Fans

Details of Tekken 8’s collaboration with JRPG Atelier Yumia have been released, and fans are perplexed by the low effort it appears to have. The event began by adding two items to the game: cowlicks and a Blue Puni, a slime monster popular in the Atelier franchise.
A Tekken 8 post on X has been filled with replies calling out how it doesn’t feel like a collaboration and asking if that was actually the whole collaboration. However, it’s easy to miss the final part of the X post that implied that there will be more to come on July 23.
To add to this, Tekken 8’s earlier X post promoting the collaboration showed an image of Reina wearing Yumia’s outfit and vice versa. It also mentioned that the event will be in three parts, with the first one adding collaboration items on July 8 and the next one happening on July 23, which would be a full collaboration DLC. As such, it’s safe to say that the cowlick and Blue Puni are just teasers to the actual collaboration, which will happen later this month.
Tekken 8 is also introducing a returning character to the game in its summer patch, Fahkumram. The fighter is already available for those who have the Season 2 Character Pass and Character & Stage Pass DLC. For those who don’t, his official release date is on July 11, 2025.
