Pokémon GO Announces Gigantamax Lapras Max Battle Day; Happens Later This Month

On July 8, 2025, Pokémon GO announced that there will be a Gigantamax Lapras Battle Day happening on July 19, 2025. Additionally, players will also be able to participate in a free Timed Research event, which will allow them to encounter a Dynamax Passimian.

The free event will be available starting July 14, 2025. Aside from being able to encounter the Dynamax Passimian after fulfilling all the requirements, players will also be awarded Passimian Candies, Max Particles and more.

For those willing to pay, an event ticket will be available, which will reward players with Max Mushrooms and XP. It will also increase the Max Particle collection limit to 5,600. The timed research will be available on the same day as the Gigantamax Lapras Battle Day.

A few bonuses will also be applied during the event:

• Remote Raid Pass limit increased to 20 from Friday, July 18, at 5:00 pm to Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 8:00 pm PDT
• Max Particle collection limit increased to 1,600
• 1/4 Adventuring distance to receive Max Particles
• 2× Max Particles from exploring
• Power Spots will refresh more frequently
• 8× Max Particles from Power Spots
• Two additional Special Trades can be made

Finally, the Pokémon GO Web Store will also have a Gigantamax Lapras Max Battle Day Ultra Ticket Box available for $5, which includes an event ticket and a bonus Max Particle Pack. A Max Battle Boost Box will also be available for $8, which contains a Max Mushroom and seven Max Particle Packs.
