Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 is officially in production. The 10-episode anime is to feature a chronicle of redemption and revenge, according to the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners social media page. The announcement was made on July 4, 2025; no trailer was teased, but the poster artwork was revealed.
“When the world is blinded by spectacle, what extremes do you have to go to make your story matter,” the promotional post reads.
The first Cyberpunk: Edgerunners received critical acclaim, earning the Best Adaptation award from The Game Awards 2022 and Best Anime Series at the IGN awards. The Netflix anime adaptation directly increased sales for Cyberpunk 2077, which saw widespread criticism during its initial launch for being plagued by game-breaking bugs. The game saw massive updates, fixing the various bugs and massively improving upon the gameplay experience.
Cyberpunk 2077 saw over 30 million copies sold; it was initially released in December of 2022, and is now available on PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2 via cloud.
