On July 3, 2025, Arslan “Arslan Ash” Siddique released a statement regarding allegations thrown at him that he was using substances that might be giving him an edge in fighting games. The conversation started when the International Esports Federation (IESF) suddenly released a statement about Arslan Ash’s doping test back in 2022.

In his statement, Arslan clarified that the positive doping test was due to him being a victim of “gym culture.” According to him, he was offered “supplements” that would help him speed up the process of getting fit. However, when he found out that what he had been taking were banned substances, due to the results of the IESF doping test in 2022, he claimed to have stopped using them.

His sponsor, Twisted Minds, also released a statement supporting Arslan Ash. The team added context regarding the test results. According to them, the World Anti-Doping Agency’s list is not designed for esports, and anabolic steroids do not offer performance benefits in games like Tekken.

Additionally, Twisted Minds also called into question the timing of the statement. The team said that the ruling was made two and a half years after the incident and that such a delay “raises serious questions around the process, and intent, particularly as no competitive integrity was compromised, with no restrictions raised or actions taken by any major tournament organizer.”

Arslan Ash is considered one of the best Tekken 8 players in the world. He’s a five-time EVO Champion and a Tekken World Tour Champion. He rose to prominence seemingly out of nowhere after winning EVO Japan 2019.
