A report by Gamebiz via Automaton revealed that Square Enix’s European branch is bleeding money. According to the outlet, the company’s revenues are down 7% from the previous fiscal year, and its operating loss is over $87 million. This subsidiary handles the distribution of goods and video games in the region.
Additionally, the company’s deficit margin has grown compared to the previous fiscal year, when Square Enix reported an operating loss of $50 million and a net loss of $47 million. This year, the company’s net loss has been declared to be $87 million.
In 2024, the company laid off employees as part of its restructuring. Offices in the United States and Europe have been affected by it. There is no news regarding layoffs this year as of the writing of this article.
