News outlet The Thumb Wars claims that People Can Fly cancelled development of Outriders 2 — they source an insider, who was not named. According to the insider, People Can Fly’s project Gemini was Outriders 2. The CEO of People Can Fly announced the suspension of two titles, including project Gemini and project Bifrost, on June 2, 2025.
“The suspension of the Gemini project is a consequence of the fact that the Publisher has not presented us with a draft of the subsequent content rider to the Publishing Agreement covering the terms and conditions of further milestones on project Gemini,” CEO Sebastian Wojciechowski wrote in the official statement.

“The lack of communication from the Publisher as its willingness to continue or terminate the Gemini project.”
Project Bifrost was reportedly planned to be a live-service game, with no roots in preestablished IPs. The inside source told The Thumb Wars that the game failed to generate excitement even within the studio, and was seen as a “generic, trend-chasing product lacking in originality and creativity.”
Outriders 2 was supposed to serve as a sequel to the Outriders, which was developed by People Can Fly and published by Square Enix. The title saw 3.5 million players in its first month of release, initially launching on Apr 1, 2021, on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
