Ready or Not will be adjusted in terms of dismemberment (aka gore), nudity and explicit representations of violence or mistreatment against children in order to be released on consoles, according to an official statement from the developer on the game’s Steam page.
The title is slated for release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on July 15, 2025. On the same date, Ready or Not will also be expanding to the Epic Games Store and Microsoft Store.
Player-induced dismemberment has become more limited, and live enemies can undergo dismemberment after getting shot, but once the foe is dead, no further dismemberment will occur. Besides that, some character art involving torture was toned down, while several instances of explicit nudity were covered up.
Developed and published by Irish studio Void Interactive, the tactical first-person shooter, Ready or Not, set in the crime-ridden streets of Los Sueños, was officially released for Windows PC on Dec. 13, 2023.
