FBC: Firebreak Reaches Over 1M Players Nine Days After Release

- FBC: Firebreak has surpassed 1 million players nine days after release.
- Most of the players are from subscription plans and consoles.
- FBC: Firebreak garnered mixed reviews from critics upon its release.
On June 26, 2025, Remedy Entertainment announced that the Control spin-off game, FBC: Firebreak, surpassed 1 million players. They added that while this is already a big feat, they still have “a lot of exciting things cooking for Firebreak players” and that news of it will come soon.
However, it’s worth noting that most of the numbers are probably from consoles or subscription plans. Taking a look at FBC: Firebreak’s charts on Steam reveals that the game only had an all-time peak concurrent player count of 1,992 players. Its 24-hour peak is also only at 169. With the game being available on Game Pass and PlayStation Plus, it’s easy to say that most of the numbers are from console players and subscribers.
Recently, the development team has been busy squashing bugs, such as players on PlayStation 5 being stuck on the login screen. There have also been economic changes, essentially making progression faster for players.
FBC: Firebreak was released on June 17, 2025, for the PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It garnered mixed reviews from critics, with some outlets citing its inability to stand out or be interesting as one of its problems. FBC: Firebreak is Remedy Entertainment’s first multiplayer game.
