Escape from Tarkov Roadmap Confirms Hardcore Wipe Ahead of 2025 Version 1.0 Release

Extraction shooter Escape from Tarkov will have a Hardcore Wipe in July 2025 and will launch as Version 1.0 after an 8-year-long closed beta, according to the updated roadmap posted on the game’s official X (formerly Twitter) account.
Besides the Hardcore Wipe in July 2025, whose exact date is yet to be revealed, the game will receive new Prestige levels, new character customization options, and cumulative fixes after the 0.16.7 update.
For August 2025, game’s developer has planned an in-game event, release of balancing fixes, quality of life changes, cumulative fixes based on player feedback, optimization of Shoreline, Ground Zero, and Interchange, new character customization options, and the launch of the fall weather season, along with PvE synchronization of Escape from Tarkov and Escape from Tarkov: Arena.
Developed by Battlestate Games for Windows PC, Escape from Tarkov is set in the fictional Norvinsk region of northwestern Russia, in the midst of a war between two PMCs: United Security (USEC) and the Battle Encounter Assault Regiment (BEAR). The game incorporates three different modes: online PMC raids, scavenger raids titled Scav, and a temporary offline training mode without progression or loot gains.
As of the time of writing, Escape from Tarkov has reached over 10 million registered players since its closed beta launch on July 27, 2017. The game maintains a robust active player base, with over 1.3 million monthly active users and around 274,000 daily players, according to ActivePlayer.
