Call of Duty: Mobile has officially announced an upcoming collaboration with the Gundam franchise for Season 6 via a post on its X (formerly Twitter) account.

The cinematic teaser trailer featured a mech, or someone in a mobile suit, saving a soldier from being crushed by a large piece of debris caused by an explosion.

Call of Duty: Mobile was developed by TiMi Studio Group, a subsidiary of Tencent Games, and published by Activision on Oct. 1, 2019. The game is currently available on Android, iOS, iPadOS and HarmonyOS.

Released as a free-to-play title, it generated over $480 million with 270 million downloads within its first year. As of February 2022, the game had generated over $1.5 billion globally in revenue from in-game spending and microtransactions, while its download count surpassed 500 million by May 2021. As of June 30, 2023, Call of Duty: Mobile has generated over $3 billion in lifetime revenue.

On top of that, Call of Duty: Mobile won the “Best Mobile Game” nomination at The Game Awards 2019 and received the title of “Mobile Game of the Year” at the 16th British Academy Games Awards (BAFTA Games Awards).

The Gundam Japanese military science fiction media franchise includes about 250 arcade, PC, console and smartphone games. It is yet to be revealed what part of the Gundam lore, which began on April 7, 1979, with Mobile Suit Gundam, a TV series that defined the mecha anime genre by featuring giant robots called mobile suits in a militaristic setting, will be shared with Call of Duty: Mobile in the upcoming collaboration.
