Developed by the studio Rebel Wolves, founded by Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, director of 2015’s The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and including multiple former employees from CD Projekt Red, and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment, The Blood of Dawnwalker is slated for launch on PlayStation 5, PC and Xbox Series X|S in 2026. The game is a vampire-themed dark fantasy action role-playing game powered by Unreal Engine 5 and is set in a gothic, fictional 14th-century kingdom called Vale Sangora.
The gameplay overview revealed that The Blood of Dawnwalker will feature three skill trees for character progression: one for the human form of the protagonist, one vampiric and one for general skills.
Some responses in dialogues will be time-limited, and the development of the plot and quests will depend on the player’s choices and the time of day.
On top of that, the main character has a special vision mode, which will be used to search for important items, just like in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
The Blood of Dawnwalker will feature optional romance mechanics with three different characters.
The game’s story, which happens amid a time when vampires decided to claim rule over humanity, follows a protagonist named Coen, a young man whose transformation into a vampire didn’t work properly and turned him into a Dawnwalker, as he faces the dilemma of fighting for people’s destiny or embracing cursed powers to save his family.
