Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.4 to Bring Fate/Stay Night Collab and Characters Buffs

Honkai: Star Rail version 3.4, titled For the Sun is Set to Die, set for release on July 2, 2025, will bring new 5-star characters, Enhanced Mode with character buffs, a new location, Fate/Stay Night collab, a new story quest and more, as was announced during a special livestream.

Phainon, a 5-star Physical-type character following the Path of Destruction, will become playable in the upcoming main storyline. Following the end of version 3.3, the game’s story will transition to Aedes Elysiae, where Trailblazers will uncover Phainon’s past.

One of the major highlights of version 3.4 is a collaboration event with the Japanese visual novel game developed by Type-Moon, Fate/Stay Night, that will bring action back to Penacony.

The event will bring to the game a 5-star Wind-type character, Saber, who follows the Path of Destruction, and a free 5-star Quantum-type character, Archer, who follows the Path of the Hunt. The collaboration will start on July 11, 2025, and last until the end of version 3.6.

In version 3.4, Tribbie, Sunday, Sparkle, Firefly, Jingliu and Blade will return to the game, while Silver Wolf, Blade, Kafka and Jingliu will get multiple buffs.

Also, a dialogue skip feature will be added in version 3.4. Characters’ conversations will be segmented into small parts, allowing players to skip by paragraph. The feature is slated for Trailblaze Missions, Trailblaze Continuances, Companion Missions and Adventure Missions and won’t appear in cutscenes or exploration gameplay.

The fourth installment in the Honkai series, Honkai: Star Rail, is a free-to-play gacha title developed and published by Mihoyo/Hoyoverse on April 26, 2023, for Windows PC, iOS and Android platforms. Later, the game was ported to PlayStation 5 on Oct. 11, 2023. The game features several characters from Honkai Impact 3rd and some gameplay elements from Genshin Impact. Honkai: Star Rail allows players to assume the role of the character referred to as the Trailblazer, who resolves disasters caused by Stellarons and other third parties while traveling across the universe through the Astral Express to help and connect worlds.

As of June 2025, Honkai: Star Rail has surpassed $2 billion in mobile revenue within its first two years.
