Skate, a reboot of the same-named skateboarding franchise, is slated for launch at the end of summer 2025.
Developed by Full Circle and published by Electronic Arts, the game is about to launch on macOS and Windows PCs, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and both Android and iOS smartphones.
Besides the narrowed launch window, Skate’s publisher also presented the upcoming title’s 0.27.0 update and announced the Skate Insider Playtesting program, which will invite everyone who will have registered by June 27, 2025, to a playtest set to start on July 2, 2025.
As for the upcoming update, which will drop the same day as the start of the playtest, it will bring enhanced lighting and shadows, improved visuals with more details like environmental content, signage, foliage and graffiti, as well as up to three times more pedestrians and a fivefold increase in the number of vehicles.
Update 0.27.0 will also unlock character customization and the Market Mile neighborhood location and add more missions and challenges. On top of that, the maximum number of players on one server will be raised to 150.
The Skate series is known for its distinctive control system, called Flick-it, which allows players to perform tricks using quick, precise movements of either or both gamepad’s sticks.
