GOG added Devil May Cry 1-4 titles to its Preservation Program on June 18, 2025.
Games from the franchise created by Hideki Kamiya and developed and published by Capcom landed on the catalogue separately: Devil May Cry, Devil May Cry 2, and Devil May Cry 3: Dante’s Awakening were combined in a Devil May Cry HD Collection bundle, while Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition was added separately.
The platform states that the games are now free of Digital Rights Management (DRM) and will work on current and future popular Windows PC configurations.
As for the improvements that both Devil May Cry HD Collection and Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition have received, GOG lists validated stability, verified compatibility with Windows 10 and 11, and added cloud save support.
While Devil May Cry, Devil May Cry 2, and Devil May Cry 3: Dante’s Awakening all center on the story of demon hunter Dante and his efforts to thwart various demon invasions of Earth, Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition features one additional protagonist, Nero, who is playable alongside the returning Dante.
GOG’s Preservation Program is an initiative launched by GOG, formerly known as Good Old Games, the DRM‑free digital distribution subsidiary of CD Projekt Red, on November 13, 2024, to ensure that classic games remain playable on modern and future PCs, even after original publishers no longer support them.
As of the time of writing, according to the Preservation Program’s web page, its catalog includes 183 titles that have undergone 957 improvements.
