Beat Saber Ceases Live-Service Updates for PlayStation 4 and 5

- Developer Beat Games announced that Beat Saber will no longer receive updates on PlayStation consoles.
- From Jan. 21, 2026 onwards, multiplayer will no longer be available on PlayStation 4 and 5 (PSVR/PSVR2).
- Gamers can still access Beat Saber on their respective PlayStation platform.
Developer Beat Games is ceasing live-service updates for Beat Saber on PlayStation 4 and 5 — from Jan. 21, 2026 onwards, multiplayer will no longer be available for PlayStation consoles. Despite PlayStation’s Beat Saber halting updates, gamers can still access the game and previously purchased content on PlayStation.
Beat Saber will continue to be updated for its other platforms, including Meta Quest and PC. Music releases will continue to be shared on Steam. In addition, the game, alongside all preexisting content. will remain purchasable on PlayStation 4 and 5, but no new content will be released on the platform from now on.
“We’re grateful for the incredible support you’ve shown us over the years, and we’re excited to share what the future holds for Beat Saber,” the developers shared on the official blog.
Beat Saber was released in 2018 and is VR’s most popular game to date. The title saw nearly 10 million sales on Meta Quest alone, according to an achievement highlight on the platform. The game hit a 4,472 concurrent player count peak on Steam in 2020.
