Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time joined Xbox Game Pass on June 17, 2025. The game became available on Xbox One, PC and Xbox Series X|S for members of Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass and Game Pass Standard subscription plans.
Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time follows the story of Crash and his sister Coco, who, along with indirect help from their former enemy Dingodile and an alternate-dimension version of Crash’s old girlfriend Tawna, set out to recover the powerful Quantum Masks in order to stop Doctor Neo Cortex and Doctor Nefarious Tropy from taking over the multiverse.
Developed by Toys for Bob and published by Activision, the eighth main title in the Crash Bandicoot series, which has 23 installments, was originally released for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on Oct. 2, 2020. On March 12, 2021, the game was ported to Switch, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and on March 26, 2021, it got a version for Windows PC.
The game preserves the core platforming gameplay of the series, adding new elements through the use of the Quantum Masks, which can alter levels and provide new ways to traverse or overcome obstacles. Besides Crash and Coco Bandicoot, the game also allows players to control three more characters: Cortex, Dingodile and Tawna, each with their own unique gameplay and levels.
As of April 2024, Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time has sold over 5 million copies across all platforms.
