Key points
  1. Leshar is the first player in Street Fighter 6 history to win back-to-back CPT Premier tournaments.
  2. He took CEO 2025 over NL using a character he doesn’t usually use in tournaments, Terry Bogard.
  3. This year’s CEO is the biggest one yet, with over 6,000 unique attendees.

Shin “Leshar” Moon-sup has won the Street Fighter 6 bracket of CEO 2025 over fellow Korean player Sim “NL” Gun. This marks the first time a player has won back-to-back Street Fighter 6 Capcom Pro Tour majors, according to Cat Cammy, an individual well-versed in Street Fighter statistics.

Both Leshar and NL started on the winner’s side of the top 8. They both won their first match, which meant they had to fight each other in the next round. Leshar swept NL 3-0 using Mai Shiranui. NL had to claw his way past Victor “Punk” Woodley, his first-round opponent, once more in the loser’s final to reach the grand final.

He beat Punk 3-0 in both matchups, sending the American home with a 0-6 record against NL’s Akuma. Punk even switched to Ryu, a character that received significant buffs in Season 3, but ultimately still lost.

This gave NL a second chance to fight Leshar, but this time it was in the grand final, where the stakes are higher. NL took the first set convincingly with a 3-1 score against Leshar’s Mai, which reset the bracket. This means that NL only had to win one more set to take the tournament.

Leshar, showing signs of weakness and trying to find answers, went back to Ed for the first game of the grand final reset. This did not work out, as NL took the first game quickly. Running out of options, Leshar brought out Terry Bogard, who was able to close out the tournament 3-2.

The Street Fighter 6 top 8 was the main event of CEO 2025, which had over 6,000 unique attendees, according to the event organizer Alex Jebailey. This year was the tournament’s biggest iteration to date.
