The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is about to get a new story DLC in early 2026, according to a report published on the PC gaming subreddit.
The report says that in a recent episode of the Polish podcast Rock i Borys, co-hosted by Borys Nieśpielak and Remigiusz Maciaszek, the former claimed that a new story DLC for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is being developed by Fool’s Theory, which is currently rebuilding from the ground up the remake of 2007’s The Witcher using Unreal Engine 5 (UE5).
Developed and published by CD Projekt, the sequel to 2011’s The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was released on May 19, 2015, for PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One. On Oct. 15, 2019, a port for Nintendo Switch was released, and on Dec. 14, 2022, the game got versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt already received two major expansion packs, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine. On top of that, the game also got a quest tied to the launch of The Witcher TV series by Netflix.
The game received 18 different awards across multiple categories at various industry ceremonies.
As of the time of writing, the game has an “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating on Steam with 764,221 reviews and an all-time peak of 103,329 players, according to SteamDB. As of March 2023, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has sold over 50 million units globally.
