PlayStation has begun allowing refunds for Mindseye, a third-person action adventure that was released across platforms on June 10. Sony is notoriously stubborn about handing out refunds, according to IGN, but it appears Mindseye’s release was broken enough to warrant returning the consumers’ money.
During a sponsored stream, content creator CohhCarnage canceled his playthrough of the game after a developer for the title reached out to reschedule.
Build a Rocket Boy co-CEO initially blamed the early backlash for the title on what he described as a “concerted effort” to discredit the game and its creators. To correct public relations, the game’s publisher, IO Interactive, denied the claim.
In an interview with IGN, IO Interactive CEO Hakan Abrak said that the game should speak for itself. “I think we should all wait ’til the 10th of June because it’s very normal these times that we all as developers keep on working on patches and working to the last minute,” he told IGN.
MindsEye is Build a Rocket Boy’s first game release. The title is a third-person action-adventure described as a narrative-driven open-world game with shades of Grand Theft Auto. It features story missions, vehicular combat, and an in-game creation tool for building and sharing custom experiences. MindsEye released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
