Capcom announced via an X post that its most recent fighting game, Street Fighter 6, has sold 5 million copies within two years. The studio celebrated the game’s second anniversary on June 2.
The X post was quick and straight to the point, thanking all the fans of the game and “all the prospective fans in the future.” The post included an illustration of Luke, a character from the Street Fighter series who was also posted with the graffiti and urban art style the game has adapted for this installment.
Recently, Street Fighter 6 released its Season 3 patch, where the developers adjusted the balance of the characters in the game. However, the biggest changes came to two of the game’s core mechanics: grabs and perfect parries. The patch slightly altered how these two mechanics worked, which really made a difference in how defense and offense are currently being played.
Additionally, Capcom has also revealed the upcoming DLC characters in its third season, and they are:
- Sagat – Summer 2025
- C.Viper – Autumn 2025
- Alex – Early Spring 2026
- Ingrid – Late Spring 2026
Street Fighter 6 was released on June 2, 2023, for the PlayStation 4 and 5, PC and Xbox Series X|S. A Nintendo Switch 2 version followed on June 5, 2025, which was also the day the Season 3 patch was released. Elena, the final DLC character from Season Pass 2, was also released on June 5.
