Splatoon Raiders Announced as Nintendo Switch 2 Exclusive

Nintendo revealed an announcement trailer for Splatoon Raiders, the first Splatoon spinoff title exclusive to the Switch 2. The trailer was released on June 10, 2025; no gameplay was teased. Instead, the trailer opted to introduce the characters and lore surrounding the spinoff. In Splatoon Raiders, players control a mechanic who goes on an adventure on Spirhalite Islands alongside the Deep Cut trio.
In addition to the introduction of a brand new spinoff Splatoon game, Nintendo also announced Splatoon 3 update version 10.0 – a free content expansion for both Nintendo Switch 1 and Switch 2. The update is slated to bring 30 new weapon kits, a returning stage from the original Splatoon game, and n increase in Freshness caps. Splatoon originally came out for the Wii U in 2015 – the game received a sequel on the Nintendo Switch in 2017 through Splatoon 2. As of December 2022, Splatoon 2 sold over 13.6 million copies worldwide. Splatoon 3 released in 2022, and continues to receive updates.
