June 8’s Xbox Games Showcase finally confirmed that Persona 4 Revival is indeed in development. The announcement followed a week after several voice actors present in the original game confirmed that they are not returning for the remake.
Atlus’s showcase of Persona 4 Revival is very short, only 47 seconds total. The studio calls it a teaser trailer, which fits the bill, as the trailer doesn’t show anything about the game aside from the main character, Yu Narukami, running around.
The studio director, Kazuhisa Wada, has published a press release saying how important Person 4 is to the team. According to him, they are putting all their passion and love into this project and believe that the game will be fresh and surprising for both newcomers and long-time fans.
Additionally, the studio is also “actively preparing for the future development of the Persona series.” More information about the remake will be revealed in the future.
In the last week of May, several voice actors, such as Yuri Lowenthal and Erin Fitzgerald, confirmed that they are not reprising their roles in Persona 4 Revival. These announcements were made before Atlus confirmed that the game is actually in development.
Persona 4 Revival does not have a release date yet, but it’s going to be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Game Pass and Steam.
