Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Gets Increased Parry and Dodge Windows in Patch 1.3.0

Patch 1.3.0 was rolled out for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, along with the game’s first items for the Steam Points Shop on June 10, 2025.
The easiest difficulty setting in the game, Story Mode, is being balanced with the new patch. Parry and dodge windows have been increased by 40%, and incoming damage has been reduced by 10% to 50%.
“With Patch 1.3.0, from the start of Act III, players received Challenge Modifiers at flag checkpoints, allowing them to adjust gameplay difficulty by setting a cap on the maximum damage a player can deal—either 99,999 or 999,999. Additionally, players can further increase the challenge by multiplying enemy HP by factors such as 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, or even 100.
On top of that Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 players can now rematch Simon after defeating him. The game also received 297 bug fixes, including a correction to Verso’s Simoso weapon, which will no longer cause lag due to memory leaks.
Several localization, system, and settings tweaks also landed with Patch 1.3.0.
As for the Steam Points Shop, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 now offers 5 profile backgrounds and 9 emoticons.
Developed by French studio Sandfall Interactive and published by Kepler Interactive, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 follows the volunteers of Expedition 33 as they embark on a mission to eliminate the Paintress, a creature responsible for the annual Gommage — an inevitable event that erases individuals at or above an ever-decreasing age.
As of the time of writing, the game featured an all-time peak of 145,063 concurrent players, according to SteamDB, and holds an Overwhelmingly Positive rating with 79,834 reviews on Steam.
In the 33 days after its initial launch on April 24, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X|S, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has sold 3.3 million copies. Besides that the game’s soundtrack reached the top position on Billboard’s Classical Music and Classical Crossover Music charts during the first week of May 2025.
In January 2025, Story Kitchen, a company specializing in adapting video games and other unconventional IPs into movies and TV series, announced a live-action adaptation of the game in collaboration with developer Sandfall Interactive.
