The Blood of Dawnwalker’s new trailer revealed more details, including wall-walking and a more precise look at two different fighting techniques. It also announced a gameplay reveal event set for June 21, 2025.
Developed by Rebel Wolves and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment, this vampire-themed dark fantasy action role-playing game (ARPG) powered by Unreal Engine 5 is set in a gothic, fictional 14th-century kingdom called Vale Sangora and is slated for launch on the PlayStation 5, PC and Xbox Series X|S in 2026.
The game’s core conflict is that, at times when vampires decided to claim rule over humanity, a protagonist named Coen, a young man whose transformation into a vampire didn’t work properly and turned him into a Dawnwalker, faces the dilemma of fighting for people’s destiny or embracing cursed powers to save his family.
The new trailer showed more details about The Blood of Dawnwalker’s two different gameplay loops. During the day, Coen fights as a regular swordsman, whereas at night, he encounters enemies barehanded, surged with vampire-like powers. On top of that, wall-walking was presented, showing that the protagonist will be able not just to run along or climb walls but walk on vertical surfaces as if on the ground.
Rebel Wolves, the studio developing the game, was founded by Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, director of 2015’s The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and head of production for 2020’s Cyberpunk 2077. The team also includes Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz (Konrad’s brother) as creative director, design director Daniel Sadowski, art director Bartłomiej Gaweł, and Cyberpunk 2077 secondary director Jakub Szamałek, all of whom previously worked on The Witcher series and Cyberpunk 2077.
